Riverhills was a planned $25 million enclosed shopping mall, office park and luxury apartment complex to have been built on U.S. Highway 280 in Mountain Brook by the Birmingham Realty Company. It was announced in September 1969 by Birmingham Realty's Sidney Smyer, Jr.

The planned retail center would contain nearly 490,000 square feet of commercial space with parking for more than 2,800 cars. As designed by Brandon Crawford and Associates the mall's anchor stores would sit at the center of a massive rectangular structure with smaller shops on the perimeter. Direct entrances to the anchors or the mall walkways were to be located at each corner.

As planned, the office park would have 88,800 square feet of leasable space in one- and two-story suites and parking for 648 cars in terraced lots screened from view from the office windows. The gated apartment complex on the nearby slopes was to have included a club house, swimming pool, tennis courts, putting greens and cycling and hiking paths. Artificial lakes would provide scenic and recreational amenities to the development.
