  • I found a birthdate on a geneology site. If its to be believed, then Dickinson was an influential pastor and political leader at the age of 27. I might try to dig up some of these thesis papers to see if there's more biographical info there. He's turning out to be pretty fascinating. --Dystopos 22:03, 6 April 2009 (PDT)
    • Something's wrong here. If he was born in 1889, he became pastor of First Baptist at the age of 12. (No, don't ask me why I didn't notice this before all the research below.) I think we have a case of mistaken identity. We might want his father, who was apparently also a Baptist minister. --Lkseitz 14:29, 7 April 2009 (PDT)
      • I think you're right. --Dystopos 16:52, 7 April 2009 (PDT)

Death date and more

  • While the SSDI gives a death date of August 1964, most entries at the RootsWeb WorldConnect Project that have a death date say August 1965. (And one says January 15, 1958.) Most entries there also indicate he married in 1914 in Mississippi and that the couple had two children in Eufala. The most complete entry shows he served as a Chaplain in France in 1918-1919. (It also shows some of the schools he attended.) His family apparently moved to Tupelo, Mississippi upon his return where he had two more children. --Lkseitz 08:06, 7 April 2009 (PDT)
  • Good work. --Dystopos 11:53, 7 April 2009 (PDT)
