Split

I don't recall where I read it, but I believe there was a split in the Forbes Piano Company at some point, mostly likely after Mr Forbes' death. Note that there is still a store calling itself the EE Forbes Piano Company, Inc. in Montgomery which seems to also claim to have started in 1889 (or trace its roots back to the original at any rate). --Lkseitz 14:04, 1 June 2009 (PDT)

  • The history on the Forbes website refers obliquely to E. E. having lost control of the company, but didn't seem to have enough actual information for me to use in the article. Since the Montgomery store is run by one of his grandsons, I don't know if it was a result of the split or not. --Dystopos 14:09, 1 June 2009 (PDT)
