This story seems ripe for some historian to tackle. It seems like Hawie sort of backed in to promoting a Black championship game without intending it, and wasn't prepared to involve the alumni associations, Black business leaders, and other segments of the community that would have expected to be involved in the game, leading to the formation of the rival Vulcan Bowl. Its also interesting that it appears Hawie and at least one of his committee, Zanaty, were part of the Lebanese community. --Dystopos (talk) 14:26, 1 January 2024 (CST)
