The Whistle Stop Festival is an annual community festival held since 1990 in downtown Irondale.

2009

The 2009 festival was held on September 26 and featured performances by the Devyani Dance Company, Magic City Ballet, Mile Marker 7, the Desert Rose Band. The Southern Vintage Fire Apparatus Association brought 15 historic fire trucks for display and a fully-equipped children's festival was set up. College football games were shown on a large projection screen and the Irondale Historical Society, the Smokey City Model Railroad Club and area businesses were all open for festival goers.
