The Carl A. Elliott Sr Building is a 3-story modern-style building located at 1710 Alabama Street in downtown Jasper. It was built in 1988 as the Jasper Federal Building and Courthouse.
The building was designed and developed by the U.S. General Services Administration under the supervision of Southeast Sunbelt Region chief architect Walter Railey of Atlanta, Georgia. The building features a low-slope hipped roof with overhanging curtain walls that alternate between orange brick panels and tinted glass. It was built by the Spartan Construction Company at a cost of $3,376,000.
In 2000 the building was renamed the Carl Elliott Federal Building in honor of former U.S. Representative Carl Elliott by Public Law No. 106-304, sponsored by Robert Aderholt and signed by President Bill Clinton on October 13 of that year.
By 2008 the building was primarily used by Walker County Board of Education. It continued to house some federal offices, including a district office for Representative Aderholt.
