James Gregory Shaw (born 1957 in Birmingham) is the Chief Judge of the Alabama Court of the Judiciary.
Shaw was born and raised in Birmingham, graduating from Banks High School. Shaw recieved his Bachelor's from Auburn University in 1979, where he met his wife Samantha. Shaw recieved his law degree from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law in 1982.
Judge Shaw was elected to the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals in 2000 and was re-elected in 2006. On March 16, 2007, Shaw was appointed Chief Judge of the Alabama Court of the Judiciary.
Shaw announced his candidacy for the Alabama Supreme Court in December 2007, for the seat being vacated by Justice Harold See.
