Sloss Furnaces is a book in the "Images of America" series published by the Arcadia Press. Comprising about 200 photographs with captions, it was compiled by Karen Utz on behalf of the Sloss Furnaces Foundation. Arcadia invited Utz to consider the project during the 2008 annual meeting of the Southeastern Museums Conference in Birmingham. The book was released in November 2009.
The book covers the history of Sloss Furnaces from its beginnings in the 1880s to its peak operations in the 1940s, its decline after 1971, the campaign to preserve it and its current status as a historical museum and event venue.
