Starnes Publishing is a division of Starnes Media that publishes several community newspapers in the Birmingham area. Its offices are located in the Becker Building at 1833 27th Avenue South in Homewood. The monthlies are supplemented by online content that is updated frequently.

Dan Starnes is the founder and publisher and Sydney Cromwell is managing editor. Starnes began working at 280 Living as a part time ad salesman and agreed to buy the monthly in 2008. With advice from his brother, a journalist, he shepherded the newspaper through the recession years, adding veteran staffers who had been laid off by Southern Living and The Birmingham News. He launched Village Living in April 2010 as the first of a series of community papers
