The Magic City Blues Society is a non-profit organization, incorporated January 10, 1993 in order to encourage performance, preservation, and appreciation of blues music in Birmingham.
The group sponsors frequent blues performances, publishes a monthly newsletter, maintains a lending library of books, and audio and video recordings.
Among the events sponsored by the society are the Phelan Park Music Series, the Battle of the Blues Bands, the Magic City Blues Fest, the Blues Ball, and numerous open jams.
