Jeremy Harper (born June 18, 1976) is a UAB computer science graduate. He became the first person to count to one million on the Internet, using a website he and his friends Eric Brown and Rob Hayes set up called millioncount.com. The effort was undertaken to raise money for PUSH America, a charity which helps children with disablities. Harper rode a bicycle from San Francisco to Washington DC in 1997 in the Journey of Hope, which also raises money for PUSH America. Harper began broadcasting his attempt on his 31st birthday, June 18, 2007 from his Birmingham apartment, and finished on September 14, with the finale simulcast at the Barking Kudu.
