This is a List of Birmingham homicides in 1899. It includes homicide cases occurring within the city limits during the calendar year. Note that not all homicides are ultimately ruled to be murder in courts of law.

Listing

  1. August 1: Hattie Hill was shot to death on 3rd Alley North between 15th and 16th Street North. Beaulah Sanders stood trial for the shooting, but was found to have acted in self defense and the charges were dismissed by Judge N. B. Feagin of the Birmingham Police Court.
  2. August 14: Patrick Friel, 74, a night watchman for the Birmingham Compress Company was found dead at his office at 9th Avenue North and 27th Street. He had apparently been killed by blows to the head while he slept.
