The school had no teams but the students were referred to as Tiger Cubs, just as it is at Oak Grove Elementary, because 98% of students would wind up attending Oak Grove High School. The school was closed and students sent to the new Oak Grove Elementary after the rebuilding resulting from the F5 tornado that ripped through western Jefferson County on April 8, 1998. The building now houses the Abundant Life Church.
