Bill Harris

William F. "Bill" Harris was the athletic director of Birmingham City Schools for 22 years. Before that he was a coach at Pell City High School, Sylacauga High School and Ensley High School. He was a graduate of Ensley High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Auburn University.

Harris was inducted into the Alabama High School Athletics Association Hall of Fame in 1992. The Alabama State Fairgrounds' Bill Harris Arena is named in his honor.
