Birmingham Food Park
The Birmingham Food Park was a short-lived destination for food trucks to park off-street in downtown Birmingham. It was created by Terry Damsky and located at 109 24th Street North, behind his business, United Trophy & Specialties.
Damsky's concept for the park included artificial grass strips, picnic tables shaded by umbrellas, and a schedule of outdoor film screenings, live music, trivia games and other events alongside parking for a rotating line-up of four to five food trucks. During the permitting process some of those amenities were scaled back and the park opened with temporary tables and umbrellas on July 1, 2017.
The venue attracted thousands of follows on social media, and maintained some momentum through November, but ceased operating over its first winter.
