Brett M. Levine (born c. 1965) is a musician, writer, art critic and curator. He served as director of the UAB Visual Arts Gallery from 2001 to 2011 and also directed UAB's Samuel B. Barker Memorial Outdoor Sculpture Competition.
Levine graduated from Mountain Brook High School in 1983. He was a founding member of the Mobile-based punk band The Vomit Spots and also played with Tim Boykin's The Dead End Kids. He was a regular part of the punk scene centered on Morris Avenue's "The Cavern" club.
Levine earned his bachelor's degree at the University of South Alabama in Mobile and a graduate diploma from the Australian National University in Canberra. Levine was awarded a fellowship grant for literature from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and has written for Birmingham Home and Garden and contributes a regular column to B-Metro magazine since its debut in 2009.
