The Brown Marx annex is a four-story building abutting the east wall of the Brown Marx building on 1st Avenue North. It was constructed about 1909, soon after the expansion of the skyscraper, as an annex to it. The ground floor was leased separately, but the upper floors were connected to the office tower and the annex was part of the same property.

In 2014 the annex was renovated for the offices of H2 Real Estate, parent of Hughes Capital Partners, which had purchased the combined property in 2012 for potential redevelopment. Dungan Nequette Architects designed the renovations.
