Cave 9

Cave9 is a volunteer-run non-profit all-ages punk and indie-rock venue located at 2237 Magnolia Avenue on Southside Birmingham. The club does not allow alcohol on premises. It was founded in 2003 by the then-25-year-old Aaron Hamilton as an alternative live-music venue to the local bars. In 2006 the club was approved to be a 501C3 non-profit organization. Hamilton and others volunteer their time to Cave9, and most of the volunteers have other full-time jobs. The club also hosts benefit concerts to help pay the debt of what it owes from the time before it became a non-profit organization. The club hosts live music virtually every weekend night for a $5 cover.
