The Coalition of Independent Music Stores (CIMS) is a Birmingham-based network of independent record stores which formed in 1995 to lobby major music labels to recognize their value in promotions, sales, and development. The president of the group since its founding is former Magic Platter owner Don VanCleave.

The group grew out of a meeting in San Francisco, California which was organized by Album Network magazine.
