Cummings grew up in Seattle and attended the University of Washington where he played football. He pastored churches in Mississippi, [[Tuskegee]] and Dothan before moving to [[Birmingham]].


Cummings was found dead in his car after he apparently ran off the road and into a ravine near the intersection of [[Old Leeds Road]] and [[Cherokee Road]] in [[Mountain Brook]]. He was survived by his wife, two daughters and one granddaughter.

Cornelius Cummings (born 1959 in Seattle; died June 1, 2009) was pastor of Bryant Chapel AME Church in Grasselli Heights and St Paul AME Church in Smithfield.

Cummings grew up in Seattle and attended the University of Washington where he played football. He pastored churches in Mississippi, Tuskegee and Dothan before moving to Birmingham.

Cummings was found dead in his car after he apparently ran off the road and into a ravine near the intersection of Old Leeds Road and Cherokee Road in Mountain Brook. He was survived by his wife, two daughters and one granddaughter.
