The Dog Daze Festival is held annually in Trussville on the first Saturday in August. It was concieved by the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce in 1970 as a method to both promote and support local business. Originally held downtown, it has since moved to the Trussville Mall. The festival has grown from its humble beginnings to include such things as arts and craft vendors, live entertainment, a Dog Contest and various children's amusements. The festival attracts between 10,000 and 12,000 visitors annually.
