Donald Thomas Lomax (born May 5, 1949) is a driver for the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority and a candidate for Mayor of Birmingham in the 2017 Birmingham municipal election.
Lomax graduated from Ullman High School in 1967 and has earned degrees in business and finance at Cleveland State University in 1981 and Talladega College in 1994. He has owned and managed rental property and owned his own business. He began working as a MAX bus driver in 2006.
As a candidate for Mayor, Lomax has expressed support for raising the minimum wage and teacher salaries, promoting early retirement for city workers, and reducing taxes to stimulate economic growth. He has proposed a "consortium of corporations" to contribute funds toward public projects, reducing the city's debt burden.
