The Dubba Dubba Twins (or Dubba Twins) were spokesmodels for WB 21, an affiliate of the WB Network in Birmingham from 1987 to 2006.
Jennifer & Shelly Freeman
Jennifer Freeman Boyd and Shelly Freeman Carter (born 1980) were the original Dubba Dubba Twins from 1998, when WTTO joined the WB Network, until 2005.
The Freemans, daughters of homebuilder John O. Freeman, graduated from Hoover High School in 1998, and both graduated from the University of Alabama in 2003 with degrees in broadcast journalism. They are both married to former roommates who both played baseball for the Crimson Tide. Jennifer married second baseman Brent Boyd, in September 2003, while Shelly married pitcher Mark Carter, Jr., in January 2004.
In addition to filming promotional spots and making personal appearances, the twins worked on the air as entertainment reporters after WTTO pioneered a news program in 2003. The twins handled the "Double Takes" segment of the "WB 21 News at Nine" until 2005. The segment was syndicated to Nashville's WB 58 and the Freemans also did promotions for that station.
Jennifer and Shelly currently reside with their families in Baldwin County. They staff the real estate sales office for Bon Secour Village, for which their father was the homebuilder. They also still do occasional promotions for the Birmingham station.
