Illustration sent by William Bibb to Secretary of State John Quincy Adams and used by Moritz Fürst to produce the first Seal of Alabama in 1818.
The ink and watercolor illustration was preserved in the papers of Adams' clerk, Daniel Brent, at the National Archives.
