SouthCity Bank is a new Vestavia Hills-based bank chartered in 2007 with Elam Holley, Jr as CEO and president, and Billy Owens as chairman of the board. The bank plans to open its first office in late summer 2007 in the Vestridge Commons shopping center on U. S. Highway 31.

Frank Petrusnek and Greg Clark were initially going to take the roles of CEO and president, but they were rejected by state regulators. Holley was tapped soon after.
