Forbes Distributing Company is an electronic supply store located at 1416 4th Avenue South. The company was founded in 1945 by Ernest E. Forbes, Jr. and is currently owned by his grandson,Tom Forbes. The company originally began selling repair parts to radio repair shops and later television repair shops. As manufacturing grew in the South, Forbes starting offering industrial controls and repair parts to maintenance crews and companies in Alabama.

They currently sell a wide range of tools, wire and cable, computer network parts, HDTV cabling and accessories to both individual and commercial customers. The company moved to its current location in 1967 after the expansion of the Elton B. Stephens Expressway forced them to move from their former location on 3rd Avenue South and 26th Street South.

At one time, they also had locations in Montgomery, Mobile, Huntsville, and Gadsden.
