The original Gardendale Community Center was built in the 1950s at 323 Fieldstown Road. It was constructed for $30,000 as a community project and later replaced by a new Gardendale Civic Center adjoining Gardendale City Hall at 960 Main Street.

The former Community Center building was later renovated for The Church at Gardendale.
