The Golden Flake Gobbler was a costumed mascot for Golden Flake potato chips. The 8-foot-tall, red, furry creature wore a straw boater and munched on everything in sight.

The character was introduced successfully in the Atlanta market in the Summer of 1975 and began appearing in Birmingham in September of that year.
