Greg Stanley (born November 27, 1963) is a retired Air Force commander and one of 14 candidates to qualify for a special election to fill the Jefferson County Commission District 1 seat left vacant when William Bell became Mayor of Birmingham.
Stanley graduated from Foley High School in Baldwin County in 1982 and earned a bachelor of arts at the University of Alabama in 1986. He went on to earn a master of arts at Troy University in 1990, a master of science from the Air Force's Commanders' Professional Development School (Air University) in 1999 and completed coursework for a doctorate in public administration at Alabama in 2002.
Stanley spent 20 years in the Air Force, working as a public administrator and educator.
