The Hahn Roofing Company was founded in 1914 by Johann Heinrich Hahn, a former manager of the George Wheelock Company. He purchased the Spiro Roofing Company on 3rd Avenue North and renamed it.

A few years later he took on a partner and moved the Hahn-Foreman Roofing & Heating Company, first to 1905-1907 Avenue B (2nd Avenue South), then to Avenue F (6th Avenue South) at 26th Street.
