Holy Family Cristo Rey High School is a private, traditional Catholic school operated by the Diocese of Birmingham, and, since August 2007, part of the national Cristo Rey network.

The school was founded in 1943 and currently has 170 students. It is located at 2001 19th Street in Ensley.

As part of the Cristo Rey network, all students in the school participate in work-study in business environments. Four students take turns fulfilling the duties of one full-time job. Their salaries go to offsetting their tuition.

Zan Raynor was the most recent principal, hired in the summer of 2007. She was fired in December of the same year for undisclosed reasons. The school is searching for an interim principal to complete the academic year and will hire a permanent principal for the Fall of 2008.
