Holy Family Cristo Rey High School is a private, traditional Catholic school operated by the Diocese of Birmingham, and, since 2007, part of the national Cristo Rey network. The school was founded in 1943 by the Holy Cross Province of the Congregation of the Passion and, prior to joining Cristo Rey, was known as Holy Family Catholic High School.

The Holy Family Cristo Rey High School Tornadoes compete in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 2A. The school's boys' basketball teams have won state championships in 1973, 1977, 1982, 1986, 1987 and 2002. Other varsity sports include girls' basketball, boys' and girls' track, cheerleading and volleyball.
