The design by Atlanta, Georgia-based Richard Rauh & Associates included a reconstructed version of the existing building's Art Deco facade as a screen in front of the entrance drive. The nearby [[Five Points YMCA]] would be demolished for parking.

The Homewood Suites Five Points South is a proposed 7-story, $15 million extended stay hotel under development for the former Five Points Music Hall site at 1016 20th Street South. The project would be part of the Homewood Suites motel chain owned by Hilton Hotels & Resorts of McLean, Virginia.
