The Hueytown Police Department serves the City of Hueytown, west of Birmingham, with a 2005 population estimate of 15,364.

The department is located inside Hueytown City Hall. The department was founded in combination with the Hueytown Fire Department as the Hueytown Department of Public Safety. Frank Lester was the first director, with the responsibilities of police and fire chief. They moved into the new city hall when it was completed in 1963.
