James L. Taylor, Jr (born 1970) is a Birmingham author.

Taylor grew up in Homewood, graduating from Homewood High School. He next attended the University of Montevallo, receiving a B.A. in English in 1994. He then worked as a reporter for The Clanton Advertiser for three years before moving to Washington, D.C. There he was the editor of a national education publication and later director of communications for the non-profit Smart Card Forum. He later returned to Birmingham where he helped found 1040 Fest in 2005 and wrote The Moretti Code, a parody of The Da Vinci Code, in 2006. He is also the president of BirminghamArt.org.
