John S. Gillespy Sr (born May 15, 1827 in Blount, Tennessee; died July 8, 1859 in Jefferson County) was a pioneer farmer in Shelby County and later near Jonesboro.
Gillespy married Martha McAdory on September 5, 1854. Their son, John, Jr, was born after his death and orphaned at the age of five.
