Lodestar Books was an independent bookstore that specialized in literature relating to world religions, feminism, psychology and mental health, and alternative lifestyles. It was opened by Sally Engler in 1983, and incorporated in 1993.

The shop first opened on the ground floor of the Altamont Apartments at 2827 Highland Avenue and later moved to the ground floor of the LaSalle Apartments at 2020-B 11th Avenue South. At its original location, formerly Celestial Realm coffee house, the store operated a small "Garden Cafe" with vegetarian foods and organic juices.

Lodestar closed in 2002.
