Michael Melvin (born 1953) is retired from the Birmingham Police Department and is currently the Chief of Police for the town of Kimberly.

Melvin was offered the job in February 2007 after it was declined by interim chief Bill Isbell who demoted himself from sergeant to patrolman. Melvin succeeds former chief Kim Emerson, who resigned in November 2006.
