Before taking over the newly-opened high school, Price served as principal of [[Elyton Elementary School|Elyton]], [[Hemphill Elementary School|Hemphill]] and [[Lee Elementary School]]s.
Price was the oldest of four children born to Reuben Joseph and Lillie Emmaline Holleman Price. He married the former Elizabeth Earnestine Grider in [[Etowah County]] in [[1913]]. The couple had one son, [[Benjamin Price|Benjamin]].


After he retired to a farm near Meridian, Mississippi, the newly-build [[Price Elementary School]] was named in his honor.

Newton Price

Newton Hosmer Price (born May 11, 1885 in Valley Head, Dekalb County; died January 24, 1973 in Meridian, Mississippi) was principal of West End High School from 1930 to 1956.

Price was the oldest of four children born to Reuben Joseph and Lillie Emmaline Holleman Price. He married the former Elizabeth Earnestine Grider in Etowah County in 1913. The couple had one son, Benjamin.

Before taking over the newly-opened [West End High School, Price served as principal of Elyton, Hemphill and Lee Elementary Schools.

After he retired to a farm near Meridian, Mississippi, the newly-built Price Elementary School was named in his honor. He died in 1973 and was buried at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian.
