Overton is a sprawling neighborhood comprising all of Birmingham's Cahaba community. It covers most of the territory annexed by the city in the Cahaba Valley and along the U.S. Highway 280 corridor. Overton is represented in Birmingham City Council District 2.
The Overton Neighborhood Association meets on the 1st Tuesday of every other month at Macedonia Baptist Church on Maple Street, off of Overton Road. The neighborhood president is Anita Abrams.
