Portrait of Birmingham (published 1971) is a picture book showcasing the city of Birmingham during its centennial year. The 120-page hardback features color photography throughout. It was compiled by Donald Brown, editor of Birmingham magazine over a six month period under the auspices of the Birmingham Centennial Corporation.

Assisted by an editorial committee which included John Mickey, Richard Peacock, George Smith and Lemuel Johnson, Brown sought submissions of many of the photographs from local companies. Other photographers represented in the book included Robert Adams, Jack Goodson, Charles Metcalfe, Park Trammell, Gil Rogers, Etheridge Gilliam, Lewis Arnold, Bill Ricker, George Bogs, and Brown himself.

The book was sold by the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and at the Centennial Information Center in the lobby of the First National-Southern Natural Building.
