R-Tist (born Randall Taylor) is a hip-hop emcee from Pell City. A trumpeter and skater in high school, he was inspired to take up rapping (rhythm and poetry) by the New York hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest.

Taylor began writing poetry as a freshman at Talladega College.
