Silver Oak Apartments, formerly Summit House Apartments is an apartment complex located at 1144 16th Avenue South near Glen Iris Park in Birmingham's Five Points South neighborhood. It is made up of multiple, 2-story buildings containing efficiency, 1- and 2-bedroom apartments.
On the evening of March 6, 2012, 20 units were destroyed in a 2-alarm fire, with an additional 16-18 units suffering smoke, heat, and/or water damage. No one was injured.
