Dan Starnes is the founder and publisher and Sydney Cromwell is managing editor. Starnes began working at 280 Living as a part time ad salesman and agreed to buy the monthly in 2008. With advice from his brother, a journalist, he shepherded the newspaper through the Great Recession, adding veteran staffers who had been laid off by Southern Living and The Birmingham News. He launched Village Living in April 2010 as the first of a series of community papers
