Tabernacle Baptist Church is located at 600 Center Street North in Graymont. It was founded in 1886 and previously located at 1013 25th Street North on Birmingham's Northside. It erected its present building in 1968.

Martin Luther King Jr delivered a speech entitled "A Realistic Approach to Race Relations" at Tabernacle Baptist Church on January 23, 1955. Because of its ongoing role in the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights it was recognized as a "movement church" by the Birmingham Historical Society.

Tabernacle is a member of District 1 of the Mt Pilgrim Baptist District Association.
