Alternate names
- On the old topographic maps of the area, the stream is labeled Griffin Brook.
- A search of the Birmingham News archives shows that virtually all recent stories call it Griffin Creek, as does a 2005 Birmingham Weekly story on Rosedale.
- From what Dystopos posted in the Edgewood Lake article, I presume it's called Griffin's Brook in Homewood: The Life of a City by Sheryl Spradling Summe.
