The Abbey is an Episcopal church in Avondale founded by the Diocese of Alabama in 2016 and led throughout its history by Katie Nakamura Rengers. From 2016 to 2019 the church was based in a coffee shop it operated at 131 41st Street South. The church continued to meet and offer free breakfasts to those who needed them in this building into 2020. It was rented from Beloved Community Church.
