The Birmingham Sound: The Soul of Neal Hemphill, Vol. 1 is a compilation album featuring tracks recorded by Neal Hemphill at his Sound of Birmingham studio. Chicago deejay and music historian John Ciba produced the compilation, which was released in 2006 with a live performance by some of the album's artists at Bottletree.
