Valerie Gribben (born c. 1986 in Montgomery) is a author and assistant professor of pediatric medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.

Gribben wrote her first novel, Fairytale, when she was 16, and it was published September 1, 2003 by Montgomery's NewSouth Books. Gribben went on to study at UAB, graduating in 2007.

Gribben's second novel, The Fairytale Trilogy, was published while Gribben was in medical school at UAB on October 1, 2010, and includes Fairytale along with two new books, The Emperor's Realm and The Three Crowns.

After obtaining her M.D., Gribben completed residencies in pediatric medicine at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford University. She continues to write for national periodicals. She married Andrew Chang in 2018.
