WQEN-FM is a radio station licensed to Clear Channel Broadcasting. It is currently called 103.7 The Q and plays the Pop/Top 40 format.
History
WQEN was origionally a country station in Gadsden in the 1980's. After several license sales and acquisitions, 103.7 The Q landed in Birmingham in 1999, transmitting from a tower in Chelsea. Sometime after 2004 the tower was moved to Red Mountain, greatly improving former signal issues. As of 2010 the station operates from a studio at 600 Beacon Parkway West. It has licensed transmitters on Red Mountain and in Trussville.
